Do I need a conveyancing solicitor near me?

No. Most conveyancers work remotely, so you can use a firm anywhere in England and Wales for a property in England and Wales. Choosing a local firm is a matter of preference rather than a requirement.

Can I use a conveyancer in another part of the UK?

Only if they're qualified in the country where the property is. Scotland and Northern Ireland have separate legal systems, so a property there needs a conveyancer qualified in that country.

Do conveyancing fees vary by area?

Yes, a little. Fees depend mostly on the property price, whether it's freehold or leasehold, and the type of transaction. Location makes some difference too. Search costs vary by local council, and firms in London and the South East often charge more.
